Fenway pictures

Not a lot going on in my world. Currently my waking hours are spent obsessing over the Sox being in the World Series. Remember my friend who had tickets to the ALCS? Yeah, well, she's going to Game 2 tonight. I've never been so jealous of and so happy for a friend at the same time like this. It's maddening! D and I made a trip to Fenway yesterday, just to be there. We were able to take the last Fenway Park Tour of the day. Being inside the park on the first day of the World Series was electric. We weren't able to go into the dugout or go inside the Monster due to heavy security, so we'll have to take another tour again next spring. While we were there we took some pictures.

This is standing on the corner of Van Ness Street and Yawkey Way.

This is the line waiting to get inside The Souvenir Store to buy World Series Merchandise.

Here's a view from the .406 Club.

This was also taken from inside the .406 Club. Seeing this gave me chills.

As did this.

Another taken from the .406 Club. Notice the date written in where the scores go.

Again from .406. See the only red seat under the Ford sign? That's where Ted Williams hit the longest home run in Fenway history. You can read about it here.

Last pic from the .406 Club. Jerseys of arguably 2 of the greatest players in Red Sox history, Ted Williams (#9) and Carl Yastrzemski (#8).

A view from the Monster seats.

From yesteryear.

Another view of Yawkey Way from the corner of Yawkey and Van Ness. Unfortunately they didn't have the blue ALCS Champs flag up yet. Oh well. They'll be putting the red World Series flag up soon anyway. :)

Compare that to this picture we took on Opening Day.

When our tour ended we were walking back down to Yawkey Way and noticed a couple of cars pulling into the players parking area. As we're watching, who should drive right by than CURT SCHILLING! Thought I'd die. :)

We have a cinema pub here in town that's showing the World Series in Hi-Def on their movie screen. We went there last night to watch. It was incredible. We're going back again tonight.

What little news I actually have to report can wait for another entry. I need to go take a nap before tonight's game.
