Let it rain, let it rain
Wednesday, Apr. 27, 2005 : 9:23 p.m.
Thank God for rain! In general I love rain anyway, but the past few weeks the pollen and mold counts here have been through the roof. Todays rain calmed at least the pollen down for a few hours. Weve been leaving the windows open for some fresh air, but thats proved to be unwise. What started out as allergies is now a full-blown, bona-fide illness. Last night was spent on the couch with aches, hot and cold flashes, coughing, a temperature and a Red Sox game gone horribly wrong.

And thats another reason to be thankful for the rain. Todays game between the Sox and the Orioles got rained out. Thats okay. Really. The Os are on fire right now. Last year I thought theyd be a force to be reckoned with, but they crapped out pretty quick. This year seems to be different. The Os have been trouncing everyone. And has anyone noticed that Sammy Sosa is considerably smaller than he used to be? Hmmm wonder why that is? *scratches chin*

Havent worked out the past 2 evenings. Tough to exercise when youve got a fever and no energy. Ugh. Hope I shake it out soon. The winter was tough enough with illness. Ill be damned if it dominates the spring, too.

The good news is, when I got on the scale this morning, it showed Im down 8.5 pounds now. It better not be lying. If I could continue to lose, on average, .85 pounds per day, heck, in 6 months Id be looking and feeling pretty darn good. I know losing weight that rapidly is not going to happen, but one can dream. Itd be nice if it were as easy to lose weight as it is to gain it.

Poor D lost a few pounds over the weekend, himself. We still dont know if he had a stomach bug or if it was food poisoning (we ate out Saturday), but it wasnt fun. It started about 1 oclock Sunday morning. Whatever he ate decided it didnt want to stick around anymore. It continued until around noon. Around 2:30 Sunday afternoon he was finally able to keep some Jell-O down. He went for the chicken soup around 7 and fortunately that stayed down too. He had to stay home from work on Monday though because he still wasnt right. He didnt look back to normal until he got home from work yesterday. He played volleyball last night but didnt drink any alcohol afterwards. He figured since hed just about got himself hydrated again after the weekend, he didnt need to dehydrate himself again so quickly.

Well, this has been an exciting entry. I think Ill go to bed now. Pleasant dreams to all. Thanks for stopping by. :-)
